Romantic Roundup – Valentine’s Day Events in Albuquerque

Love is in the air, and it’s time to make plans for Valentine’s Day! We’re not saying you have to participate in the corporate traditions of Valentine’s Day, but if you want to celebrate the love in your life, whether it’s showing your friends how much you care for them, or spending a romantic night with your sweetheart, there are plenty of festivities where you can keep it local.

Intimate Eateries

The Feel Good
1720 Central Ave SW Suite A, Albuquerque, NM
Visit website

The Feel Good is an homage to restauranteur Erin Wade’s lineage of family recipes and flavors passed down through the decades. The 900 square foot eatery is a bright and airy space with an intimate mood. Befitting the cozy ambience is a rather limited menu with thoughtful touches, hinting at the tradition-driven mentality.

Top pairing for Valentine’s Day:
The Apricot Glazed Pork Chop with a flute of rosé is the perfect aphrodisiac to enjoy while snuggled with your special someone in a booth for two. Make the night extra sweet with a slice of coconut layer cake or Italian sour cream cake made especially for the holiday.

Farina Pizzeria & Wine Bar
510 Central Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM
Visit website

With its exposed brick and imprinted tin ceiling, Farina screams modern sophistication, and it comes with a simple message: pizza and wine, and it’s all damn good. At first glance the menu may appear somewhat standard but upon further inspection you’ll find unique and exciting ingredients you won’t find elsewhere in the Duke City in combinations you likely haven’t tried before. Don’t expect a hushed, intimate experience; the chatter of happy diners seated in close proximity reverberates throughout the space.

The Acre Restaurant
4410 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM
Visit website

The Acre is a plant-based brainchild of chef and owner Sean Weed, a 26-year veteran of the restaurant industry. Situated in a cozy 1,440 square-foot space, The Acre is unpretentious, seasonal, local and very much delicious. The Acre’s dishes are the antithesis of stereotypical vegetarian dishes which often consist of tofu, sprouts and kale. Instead, the cafe focuses on hearty, homestyle vegetarian and vegan food intended to satisfy all diets.

The Acre’s Valentine’s Day 5-Course Dinner:
Indulge in The Acre’s five-course plant-powered prix fixe complete with an optional wine pairing and a romantic shared dessert plate. Menu includes a miniature green apple crab(less) cake with house remoulade, strawberry risotto with mushroom “scallops” and a Wellington with asparagus and new potato.

M’tucci’s Italian Restaurant
6001 Winter Haven Rd NW M, Albuquerque, NM
Visit website

While the chandeliered pergola, colorful Mardi Gras-like masks and other eccentric decorations embellishing the walls hint at the whimsical playfulness of the restaurant, the menu at M’tucci’s features some seriously good eats. Traditional dishes prepared by executive chef John Hass might not be exactly as you remember them; they’re more likely to be deconstructed, refined and reinvented to be even more luxurious and superb.

Valentine’s Day at M’Tucci’s:
Native New Mexican musician Kirk Matthews will be bringing his blend of Southwestern Style and Urban Folk to M’tucci’s for the holiday.

Copper Lounge
1504 Central Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM
Visit website

If a dimly lit, speakeasy-esque joint with expertly crafted cocktails is your kind of vibe, Copper Lounge is your kind of spot. The space has a modern art deco feel with jewel-toned couches, glass tables and has an approachable yet classy mood. The somewhat limited food menu features elevated pub plates like flatbread and oysters.
