Cinco de Mayo in ABQ!

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5. Today the occasion is celebrated with parades, parties, mariachi music, Mexican folk dancing and traditional foods. ABQtodo has gathered a few events happening in the Duke City during the Cinco de Mayo weekend!

Isotopes vs. El Paso Chihuahuas | Isotopes Park | May 5

The Mariachis de Nuevo Mexico also known as the Albuquerque Isotopes will make their debut for the May 5th Cinco de Mayo game with a Firework display to follow.

ENGINE | South Broadway Cultural Center | May 4 

Hear the Latin American rhythms and sounds of ENGINE at South Broadway this Friday. The heart of the trio’s music flows from their guitars with a rock energy, a funky groove, blues, flamenco and Latin rhythms.

Like an Animal | ABQ BioPark | May 4

Como un animal! This unique event will give a crash course on the birds and the bees. The hour and a half tour through the Zoo will also include adult beverages and hearty tapas-style appetizers. 21+

Summertime in Old Town | Old Town Gazebo | May 4-6 | FREE

Music returns to historic Old Town with the Summertime in Old Town concert series. Beginning Friday, May 4 with New Mexican recording artist Gonzalo and Saturday May 5 with mariachi ensemble Mariachi Tradicional.

Cinco de Mayo | South Broadway Cultural Center | May 5 | FREE

“Me siento muy… excited!” for Saturday’s event at South Broadway! This Cinco de Mayo celebration will feature arts and crafts for kids, traditional dancing from Ballet Folklorico Fiesta Mexicana and a screening of the “Selena” movie.

Una Celebración de México | National Hispanic Cultural Center | May 6

Enjoy a beautiful song and dance tribute to Mexico with mariachi artist Antonio Reyna and a cast of talented musicians and performers. Reyna is joined by Mariachi Femenil Flores Mexicanas, with special guests Reynaldo Maestas and Baile Illusion.
