ArtsUnexpected is a Student-Organized Showcase of Talent Takes Place Throughout the Day and Night on and off Campus

The University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts is hosting its annual ArtsUnexpected event all day on Friday, April 19, 2019, at various locations on and off campus. A schedule of events will be available soon at ArtsUnexpected.unm.edu

This pop-up showcase features student artists including filmmakers, dancers, thespians, visual artists and musicians of every variety performing and showcasing their works of art throughout campus and the larger Albuquerque community. Visiting artists will also be coming to UNM to participate in the fun.

“ArtsUnexpected has become a tradition for our college,” said Regina Carlow, Interim Dean of the College of Fine Arts. “Every year I look forward to seeing our amazing students’ pop-up exhibits, performances and truly unexpected art making events all around campus.”

Several ArtsUnexpected participants will also show their work in off campus spaces in downtown as part of our partnerships.

Once again, a serendipitous special treat this year, is that there will be one full-length College of Fine Arts student production on campus the evening of April 19th for visitors to top off their artful day:
“She Stoops to Comedy,” a comedic play by David Greenspan and directed by Gregory Moss
Please plan on joining us for ArtsUnexpected (and a few planned productions and gallery) on April 19!
