Every year we all scramble to give the best Christmas gift under the tree. We want to do more than just give a gift, we want to impress and of course hold the trophy of ‘Best Gift Giver’ in the family.
This year while developing my plan to out-do all my other family members in giving the best gift, I dozed off and was visited by the ghost of Christmas “Presents”.
“Wake my dear to your delight, I have some sights to show you, now let’s take flight.”
I was whisked to a place where hot air balloons fly and children come often to enjoy Stories in the Sky.
I marveled at all there was to see, all prices were reasonable between $4-$40, oh wee!!
Before I could grab my first item to buy, I heard the words of a gentlemen reply. “My Christmas shopping is complete!” In shock, I was almost knocked off my feet.
Suddenly trapped in a whirlwind of sparkling snow, the Ghost of Christmas “Presents” told me to look below.
There it was, someone done with their shopping. This place was superb with jewelry and great gifts for the stocking.
It was my very first visit to this store you see, the Ghost of Christmas “Presents” acted as though he didn’t believe me.
“Poor, naïve girl—there’s so much in Albuquerque for you to explore. Come with me and I’ll take you to another place, we haven’t much time let’s pick up the pace!”
Arriving at our last destination I looked around, I was truly amazed with the kid-friendly decorations I found.
There were stuffed sea lions, jellyfish and bears—what fun! The Ghost of Christmas “Presents” slowly turned to me and said, “We’re done.”
I woke from my dream a little confused, thinking someone must have spiked the egg nog. With so many ideas on what to give this holiday season I grabbed my keys and began to head out the door.
I heard a hefty laughing and turned to see, the Ghost of Christmas “Presents” saying to me….
