We’re only a week away from one of the most loved (and hated) holidays, Valentine’s Day.
I hope this list of events will help with some ideas, whether you’re looking to paint the town red, celebrate on a budget, or enjoy a night out with your girlfriends.

Bring your family, a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and enjoy the view as a close-knit group of local balloon pilots launch up to 135+ hot air balloons.

Join us Tuesday, Feb 14th, 2017. Enter the magical Valentine’s atmosphere with live music from the 3 piece ensemble, Empire Strings and enjoy live salsa by Ivon Ulibarri & Cafe Mocha throughout the night! There will be plenty of dance performances, dessert, drink & fun for dancers and spectators alike.

(Feb.12-14) Singing Valentines
On February 12, 13 or 14, members of Albuquerque’s five barbershop choruses will send quartets out to serenade anywhere in the Albuquerque area.
(Feb.19) I Love Nature Workshop Series: Bird Seed Hearts – FREE
Share the love this February by giving back to nature. Participants will create heart-shaped suet for birds, baths for bees, and other gifts for our flora and fauna friends. Please pre-register at 897-8831. Limited space available. For children and children-at-heart aged 6 and over.
(Feb.17-19) Love In Black & White: A Cinematic Expression
New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus will have a Valentine Cabaret that features performances by many soloists, duets, ensembles, and includes a few numbers sung by the full Chorus. The Cabaret showcases the individual music talents of our members, whether singing or playing an instrument, etc.
(Feb.17-19) La La Land – ASUNM Southwest Film Center
Struggling actress Mia (Emma Stone) and aspiring jazz pianist Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) begin a whirlwind romance as they both pursue their dreams in Los Angeles. However, their blossoming relationship is challenged when their careers pull them in different directions.
(Feb.25) Rose Talk with ABQ Rose Society – BernCo.
Roses bring beauty and elegance to Albuquerque and have a long tradition in the city. John Luceros and Andy Core from the Albuquerque Rose Society will lead a presentation on the best roses to select for this area, how to care for roses so they will thrive in your landscape, and the dos and don’ts of rose maintenance.
