2016 is ending and to celebrate the intro to 2017, we at ABQtodo have researched and compiled a list of Family-Friendly events that are designed to entertain all ages. The glitz and glamour of New Year’s parties are not just for adults this year; some venues are opening their doors a little earlier in the day so that little ones who can’t keep their eyes open to midnight can still participate in the festive activities.
Noon Year’s Eve Parties
New Year’s Celebration at Explora
Explora is one of the most popular spots to visit for youngsters in the Albuquerque area. Known for its STEAM education outreach and interactive learning areas bringing in the New Year here will allow for a safe, fun and appropriate timed party for the entire family. Don’t miss the balloon drop at noon!
Noon Year’s Eve at WOWZUH
WOWZUH is the indoor play area that will be celebrating bringing in the New Year in at noon. Snacks, play, crafts, and games will be provided. The countdown of the ball drop will be viewed on screen and then the balloon drop will be released. Go enjoy the fun!
South Valley Library Noon Balloon Drop
Ring in 2017 with music, bubbles, crafts and games at South Valley Public Library. When the clock strikes noon, the balloons will drop and the party will begin. Stop by for some awesome free family fun!
For those kids who are older but still can’t hang out to midnight, the Taylor Ranch Library Annual Balloon Drop can fit the bill. Visit Taylor Ranch Public Library for stories, songs, and crafts to welcome in the New Year.
Family-Friendly New Year’s Parties
New Year’s at TENPINS
There are no age limits at the bowling alley. The “All In The Family” and New Year’s Eve bowling parties are great ways to celebrate the New Year. Families can pay per person or reserve a lane; reservations are strongly suggested since this is a popular night.
Skidmore’s Holiday Bowl New Year’s Celebration
Skidmore’s has 2 New Year countdown events, the 1st at noon and the 2nd at midnight. Both will be packed with good music, good food, and good fun! Reservations are required for the midnight celebration.
New Year’s Party Bash at Roller King
The grand re-opening of Roller King coincides with the New Year’s Bash. This all-white themed party will display the newly renovated skate floor, have an exclusive guest DJ and reveal an improved snack bar experience. You don’t want to miss this!
New Year’s Eve on the Plaza
The City of Albuquerque is hosting a community-wide party on Civic Plaza. This free event will have plenty of children’s activities to keep everyone engaged throughout the night. Stop in to count down to 2017 in the heart of the city!
